The South African Police Service (SAPS) is advertising a number of vacancies that are currently available (employment as either a police official or civilian employee) within the various sections of its Forensic Services Division throughout the country – http://www.saps.gov.za/careers/careers.php.

Police officials are employed in terms of the South African Police Service Act, 1995 (Act No 68 of 1995) and civilian employees are employed in terms of the Public Service Act, 1994 (Act No 103 of 1994).

    I am currently completing a Masters degree in Genetics and will graduate soon. I completed a BSc degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry and graduated Cum laude. I then studied BSc Honors in Microbiology and served an internship for 9 months. My project in MSc is based on DNA Methylation and Applications in Forensics. Are there any posts available at this lab?

    I would really appreciate feedback.

    I would like to enquire about Identikit Artist career in the SAPS. I am a born artist and I have passion for art and nature. I am able to sketch almost anything and it would be a dream come true for me to use my talent to serve my country.
    I have studied graphic design and have 5 years working experience as a layout artist.

    I went to SAPS website careers and I meet all the requirements mentioned for being Identikit Artist. I am currently enronlling for a forensic science course.

    Please help me find a way into my career field.

      Hi Khululwa. According to the SAPS website and previous vacancy advertisements, the Z83 form is no longer in use for advertised posts. We’re not sure if this is applies to learnership programmes as well. We advise either contacting the SAPS directly to request the correct relevant form or to visit their website’s Career page to download their new application form – http://www.saps.gov.za/careers/careers.php.
