Winter may still be in the air, but the Parliamentary Winter Recess is over and the Portfolio Committee for Police will resume what we hope will be the final deliberations on the DNA Bill as of tomorrow, Wednesday 24th July 2013. This week the Committee will focus on the overall software solution which is being proposed to manage the National Forensic DNA Database (NFDD). This week’s programme will run as follows:

The DNA Project will be in Parliament as always and will be reporting daily on the progression of this all important Bill through Parliament.
Next week we hope to see the Committee review the final draft of the DNA Bill which has now been prepared and sent to the Committee following the clause by clause analysis of the DNA Bill in the previous Parliamentary session.
