The overarching objective of Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good. Ultimately it seeks to empower communities everywhere. “Take Action; Inspire Change; Make Every Day a Mandela Day.”
Make the change: Become a Mandela Day Change-maker
Change was the gift given to all South Africans by Nelson Mandela. Now it’s YOUR turn. In the spirit of Madiba and his vision to spread justice and freedom for all, this is your chance to step up to the plate and become a part of a continuous global movement for good. By becoming a Mandela Day Change-maker you can show that actions speak louder than words by giving to make a positive change to this country. If you don’t have the time to give back, then consider giving R67 to The DNA Project to be a Change-maker: if 1,000 people give R67 each we can raise R67 000 which will provide 84 communities with a free DNA Awareness workshop. How will this be giving back to the greater good of South Africa? Well, for every additional person who can be taught about the importance of preserving crime scene evidence at a crime scene, which will enable Crime Scene Investigators to positively link the perpetrators to the crime, we can ensure that criminals are held accountable for their actions and prevented from committing further crimes, making our society a safer, better place to live.
