Attend crime scene immediately. Attend crime scene immediately. Do planning with role players and crime scene investigator on how the crime scene will be processed
Interview reporter and establish what happened.Record reporter / witnesses / suspects details. Take over crime scene from first member and receive briefing Conduct 1st walk through of crime scene together with crime scene investigator
Take control of crime scene, secure, cordon off  and protect. DO NOT MOVE BODYDo not touch or move potential evidence. Conduct 1st walk through of crime scene together with first member and  reporter.Create an emergency access route to be utilized by all authorized persons who enters / leaves the crime scene Capture crime scene on video.Compile plan / sketch and key to plan.
Summon all role players to crime scene, eg. Detective, LCRC, FSL, Forensic Pathologist, etc. Establish the motive for the murder Search for, identify and collect physical evidence, e.g. Fingerprints, DNA, etc.
Request additional human resources to assist in securing the scene when necessary. Record all observations on crime scene in pocketbook / crime scene log sheets Utilize Ballistic experts where necessary
Trace witnesses and record their details. Do planning with role players and crime scene experts on how the crime scene is going to be managed and processed Take photographs of crime scene, close-up photographs of wounds, injuries and exhibits.
Identify suspect and arrest if on crime scene. Interview reporter and witnesses and obtain detailed statements
Establish whether any persons are injured and arrange for medical treatment. Establish a Crime Scene Command Center (CCC) outside the inner cordon from where all access to the crime scene will be controlled
Arrange for victim support. Summon LCRC / Forensic Crime Scene Experts for DNA,  fingerprints, Ballistics, ID kits etc.
Contact radio control to broadcast lookout for motor vehicles that could have been used by the suspects.  If  applicable. Conduct enquiries regarding CCTV footage in the vicinity.Conduct further enquiries with car guards and other witnesses.
Record all observations on crime scene in pocketbook / crime scene log sheet Interview witnesses and obtain detailed statements
Submit statement regarding crime scene and condition of victim. Search for physical evidence, e.g. Murder weapon and seize 
Hand over crime scene to first detective on the scene Hand in physical evidence and exhibits into the SAPS 13.
Remain on crime scene and assist the Crime Scene Investigation Team to manage the scene. Request assistance from Technical Support Unit (TSU) where cellular phones were robbed / are involved
Arrange for ID Kits to be compiled if witnesses are able to identify suspects
Identify suspect and arrest if on crime scene
Arrange for the removal of the deceased to the Medico Legal Laboratory (mortuary)
Complete SAPS 180 in detail and hand over to Forensic Officer (mortuary attendant)
Establish the identity of the deceased
Inform next of kin of the deceased
Conduct final walk through of crime scene together with all role players who assisted in managing the crime scene
Conduct final debriefing session
Arrange for the clean up of the crime scene
